Many factors cause sex addiction. Most addicts come from families in which addictions thrive, like alcoholism, compulsive eating, gambling or sex. Most also have a history of sexual or physical abuse—over 80 percent. They also tend to come from families who have negative and rigid attitudes toward sex.
